Export New Zealand's Professional Development programme, delivers up-to-the-minute
training to the export community in the form of seminars and workshops supported
by the professional expertise of ENZ's partnerships and sponsors.
Tripos Ltd
The directors of Tripos Ltd are Richard Lumsden, Philippa Ivory & Simon
Fawkes - all experienced exporters and presenters of export workshops and seminars
as well as long time members of Export New Zealand.
Together with ENZ, they recognised the need for in house specialised export
training where each course is tailored to meet the individual, corporate or
organisation’s needs.
Tripos Ltd is designed to: -
- Enable the client to better understand their current and prospective import/export
customer’s needs so that they can develop a long-term mutually beneficial
partnership.
- Give attendees, relevant, up-to-the minute information so they can offer
their clients expert and timely advice, thereby ensuring that they are their
customers’ first choice for service.

Simon Fawkes
Simon Fawkes is
a “reformed engineer”, specialising in project management and an
accomplished linguist. His appointment as New Zealand Trade Commissioner
in Hamburg in the early 90’s was the catalyst to a mid-career change to
international marketing. He returned to the Wellington office of Trade
NZ, where he was responsible for investment attraction from Europe and North
America. He has since work worked in a number of marketing and business
development roles for exporters and he formed Business to Markets Ltd (www.b2m.co.nz)
in late 2003.
Simon has given numerous presentations in both English and German, primarily
to groups of senior executives and investors from New Zealand and overseas.
He has also facilitated workshops for Economic Development Agencies and
companies in New Zealand. Simon has a particular interest in trade
fairs and he coaches Business Planning and Marketing for clients of Enterprise
North Shore.
Simon has an MA in Engineering and Modern Languages from Cambridge University
in England and an MBA from Otago University. He is also a Member of the
Institution of Professional Engineers, New Zealand (MIPENZ).
Philippa Ivory
Philippa Ivory
is a co founder of Eager Beaver Toys Ltd, a toy design and marketing company
which manufactures toys in China and exports them to distributors worldwide.
Distribution in NZ is currently split between Pumpkin Patch and Brightway Toys
allowing Philippa time to be involved in other roles.
These include: delivering training and education programmes for Export NZ;
a position on the Auckland Executive of Export NZ; a part time role as Executive
Officer of NZPICS; a business mentor for Business in the Community; and with
the Enterprise NZ Trust as a Young Enterprise Scheme mentor.
Prior to delivering the ‘Pricing Strategies for Exporters’ course
on behalf of Export NZ and NZTE, Philippa was a Computer Training Manager for
Tower Life, a Systems Analyst/Training Specialist for a large import/export
company and a trainer for a large government department.
Richard Lumsden
Richard has a BE (Mech)(Hons) and is currently completing his Master’s
Thesis. Richard has been an exporter for 30 years and continues in an active
exporting role as a co-owner of Dynamic Traffic Systems Ltd. He has been involved
in Export New Zealand since 1978 serving as the President of the Wellington
Branch and two terms as the National Vice President in the mid to late 1980s.
His passion has been Export Education and whilst in Wellington, he lectured
at Wellington Polytechnic presenting:
Fundamentals of Marketing for NZIM
Export Marketing, Export Documentation and Strategic Marketing for the Export
Marketing Diploma
He has also presented at a variety of marketing workshops held by Export New
Zealand and was the National Moderator of the Export Marketing Diploma Theses.
Most recently Richard has been the presenter of Export New Zealand’s
full day workshop “Agents and Distributors” in the Auckland Region.
Richard is currently the Chairman of the Education Sub Committee of the Auckland
Branch of Export New Zealand.

by the participants and you are welcome to review the summary of these for courses
that Richard has presented.
