New tool for NZ-Japanese trade

20 July 2007: The Japan New Zealand Business Council in New Zealand (JNZBC), with assistance from New Zealand Trade and Enterprise, has launched a new website this month designed to supply companies and individuals with the most up to date information on trade between Japan and New Zealand.

The site - www.jnzbc.com – is a timely development in Export Year 2007 and includes tips and advice on how business is conducted in each country, culture and protocols, business travel suggestions, a list of useful contacts and other helpful information. There is an English and Japanese language version of the website.

The website will be managed by the JNZBC and also features latest information from New Zealand Trade and Enterprise, Tourism New Zealand, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, JETRO and other official organisations. Industry sector information and statistics are available covering areas such as agriculture, horticulture, forestry, food and beverage, ICT, education, biotechnology, tourism and construction.

Information relating to JNZBC co-ordinated events, including the annual JNZBC conference will be available on the site. JNZBC members are also invited to list their services and submit articles and industry news.

New Zealand Trade and Enterprise has provided funding towards the project through the Aichi Leveraging Programme, an initiative developed to take advantage of business opportunities presented by the Aichi World Expo in 2005.

JNZBC New Zealand Chairman, Denham Shale says it is hoped that business people in both Japan and New Zealand find the website a useful tool and that it enhances the business relationship between the two countries.
